Woodcircles team gathers in Cambridge
On 16-17th June 2026, the Woodcircles consortium gathered at the University of Cambridge to review project progress and align on the next steps towards more sustainable and circular construction practices.
Discussions focused on key topics including material reuse, innovative circular building approaches, digital tools and technologies, sustainability strategies, business opportunities, and the practical implementation of the Woodcircles building system.
A highlight of the General Assembly was the unveiling of the Woodcircles Travelling Demonstrator, designed by Waugh Thistleton in collaboration with project partners. Over the coming year, the demonstrator will travel to several European cities, engaging local stakeholders and partner cities in conversations about the future of sustainable timber construction and circular building solutions.
The meeting also offered an opportunity to explore Cambridge’s rich architectural heritage, with the University organising a guided tour that included the iconic King’s College Chapel.
