Timberhaus Consortium meets in Baia Mare
We recently attended the month 18 Timberhaus general assembly meeting in Baia Mare.
The meeting provided an opportunity for consortium partners to share progress across the project’s work packages.
WTA's work focuses on exploring the links between timber, health and wellbeing, the value of vernacular architecture and local timber crafts, and the development of pilot projects that will contribute to a digital resource for each partner city.
As part of the visit, the Municipality of Baia Mare organised a tour of the wider Maramureș County, showcasing the region’s rich timber heritage. We visited historic sites gaining valuable insights into how timber has shaped local architecture, craftsmanship, and cultural traditions over generations.
A valuable and inspiring meeting, highlighting the importance of preserving and learning from local timber knowledge while exploring its role in creating healthier and more sustainable communities.
