WTA nominated as BBN Frontrunner of the Year 2026 1

We’re delighted to have been nominated as one of three UK candidates for Built by Nature’s Frontrunner of the Year Award 2026.

The award recognises organisations working to accelerate the transition to timber and biobased construction, not only through the buildings they deliver, but through leadership, collaboration, advocacy and knowledge sharing across the industry. That wider work has always been important to us.

Alongside delivering increasingly ambitious timber projects in the UK and internationally, we have worked closely with Built by Nature and its Frontrunner Network to help address some of the wider barriers to mass timber construction.

This has included contributing to the Frontrunner Network Toolkit, engagement with MHCLG and the Building Safety Regulator following changes to Approved Document B, participation in the UK Frontrunner Advisory Group, sharing knowledge through industry events, and developing new research and practical tools with support from the Built by Nature Fund.

The transition to a lower-carbon built environment depends on sharing what we learn, building confidence and working collectively to change the systems around the buildings themselves.

We’re proud to be part of a network doing exactly that, and very pleased to see this work recognised.

The winner will be announced at the Built by Nature Annual Summit in Barcelona on 5 October.
