The eight appartments located within The Sugar House on Dane's Yard are now available for rent.

Surrounded by east London’s waterways, Sugar House Island is set against the backdrop of the Three Mills Wall River.

The Island has a vast history from textile printing and ink making, to sweet production and sugar refinement located here in the 19th century. As the Sugar Refinery ceased production, the Sugar House is believed to have become a warehouse for the Island’s gin distilling activity. The strong vertical lines of the renovated warehouse are an indication of its industrial past, with its red brickwork typical of the Victorian era.

The refurbishment and extension of the Sugar House presented us with a fantastic opportunity to reimagine this historical building for modern living. The eight new apartments are unique in layout and aspect, capitalising upon the idiosyncrasies of the existing fabric to maximise space, light and views.

Apartments retain an industrial aesthetic, with double height spaces, exposed beams and brick work that are unified by contemporary finishes, demonstrating how inventive retrofit can safeguard existing buildings while mitigating our carbon emissions.

More information is available on the Sugar House Island site.
