Appointed for scheme in Aubervilliers, France 1

Waugh Thistleton have been appointed on a new scheme in Aubervilliers, France

The project was won via an invited design competition and is for the development of a detailed design based on outline consent for a masterplan in the area

Waugh Thistleton were the only shortlisted practice outside of France, but our design approach and our proposal to use sustainable cross laminated timber technology to construct the project proved to be the winning concept.

The project is for 56 residential flats in the Seine-Saint-Denis department, to the north of the Paris conurbation. The buildings are arranged in small clusters with small ‘pocket parks’ in between to provide spaces specifically suited to different members of the community whilst providing seamless interaction with other existing and proposed parts of the forthcoming masterplan.

The project is currently being progressed to planning documents and is expected to be on site from spring 2017.
