Plywood: Material of the Modern World
A 1:1 model of a piece of Murray Grove features in the exhibition on plywood which runs at the V&A until 12th November.
The exhibition explores the material’s global impact and history from the 1850s to the present day; bringing together over 120 objects to examine how this material has helped create the modern world.
Completed in 2009 Murray Grove pioneered the use of cross laminated timber in mid-rise modern developments. This project spearheaded the use of timber as a material offering an alternative and sustainable structural system to the building industry.
