Dalston Lane topped out
We are pleased to announce that Dalston Lane has now topped out.
Hackney Mayoral candidate Councillor Phillip Glanville was on hand to secure the last wood screw, on what is the world’s largest CLT building.
This groudbreaking project is estimated to use more structural timber than any other building in the world. Using CLT construction means that the embodied carbon is 2.5 times less than that of an equivalent concrete frame. Ramboll's experts have calculated that this building will save 2,400 tonnes of carbon compared to an equivalent block built using traditional concrete techniques.
The project is due to complete in late Spring 2017.
